Interested in getting involved?

 

You can become a member of BHN. In particular we are looking for volunteers with skillsets in the following areas:

  • event planning

  • fundraising

  • communications and marketing

  • website maintenance

  • accounting and finance

​Apply to Volunteer with Jeevan:

 

​​If you have a heart for helping and wish to go to India to be a volunteer we would  love to hear from you. Volunteers must ommit to staying on for six months or more.

 

We need volunteers who are good with kids-and who don’t mind hard work! BHN does not financially support volunteers but will support your volunteer experience.

​

6 month Volunteer: be available to do one to one tutoring, special workshops, lead games and special activities/ sports games.

 

One Year Volunteer:  Teaching regular classes at the school for one full session.  Preferably Certified English as a Second Language Teachers who can tutor students in English conversation.

 

Highly Qualified:

electricians, handyman, teacher-trainers are always in need!

Some things are hard to get in India and packages are always appreciated!

 

Items needed:

  • English story books (beginner level)

  • Science books for children

  • Craft supplies: pipe cleaners, origami paper, quilling paper, tranlucent paper

  • Clothes: warm sweaters, culturally appropriate clothing (no tank tops or shorts); Note: the children are VERY small, no large clothes needed.

  • Electronics: Computers, tablets, smartphones, ipods (Please nothing damaged or too outdated)

  • Certain toys, such as building toys (ie. lego, k'nex, etc.)
