Founder and treasurer
Brief info
Daniel is a Canadian who spent many years living and working in Taiwan as an English teacher. During his time there, he developed a deep appreciation for working with young people and for the opportunities that education can provide.
Daniel is also the longtime partner of Jessica Morwood, the founder of Basic Human Needs. Inspired by Jessica's commitment to helping vulnerable children, Daniel eventually made the decision to leave his life in Taiwan and move to India, where he became involved in creating a safe and supportive home for children in need.
In India, Daniel helped establish a hostel for children, providing a place where young people could have safety, stability and the opportunity to build a better future. His involvement reflects the same belief that lies at the heart of Basic Human Needs: that every child deserves care, dignity, education and the chance to reach their potential.
Together with Jessica and the wider Basic Human Needs team, Daniel continues to contribute to the organisation's work supporting vulnerable children and communities in India.
